I gave my character Hungarian nationality and endowed her with somewhat vampiric traits, her very pale skin, her petite, slender frame, and her incredible beauty. As for her transition and sexual orientation, that came quite naturally; I wanted to include a trans-feminine character, and at the same time, I wanted to pay tribute to all those men who summoned the courage to affirm their sexuality.
