Inspiration: Marie-Claude was a real person during my teenage years. She lived next door to my grandmother, and the entire first part of *Virginity Lost* is true, from start to finish. Her mother wasn’t a doctor but a nurse, and there was no medical practice in their basement. Still, Marie-Claude was a firecracker, and I could have lost my virginity to her if I’d agreed to “play doctor”, as she so aptly put it. Her plan was to invite me to sleep in a tent, just the two of us. My grandmother put her foot down and forbade it! Even so, I did get my first kiss and experienced all the sordid questions described in the story. So, my Marie-Claude and the real one are identical in every point. I still fantasize about her more than forty years later!
